Cozy Ties: Astroturf 'Ethical Oil' and Conservative Alliance to Promote Tar Sands Expansion

Q: When is a grassroots organization that supports a big nasty pipeline NOT a grassroots organization that supports a big nasty pipeline?

A: When it’s actually the conservative government of Canada trying to dupe Canadians into believing that any grassroots organization WOULD EVER support a big nasty pipeline. 

If we put the issue aside for a moment this is just really REALLY underhanded. Creating a fake group of concerned citizens to lobby your cause instead of lobbying it for yourself. I’m not a Conservative supporter but I would be horrified if a party I supported tried to do pull this off. 

Oh well, at least they’re too stupid to mask their domain registration and they got caught.
